Yunfeng Zhao is a PhD candidate supervised by Dr. Huiyu Zhou at Queen’s University Belfast. He is going to work on the image data analysis part of the FoodSmartphones project as a Marie-Curie Early Stage Researcher. Yunfeng is originally from China. He obtained his bachelor degree in Network Engineering at Ningbo University of Technology located in Ningbo, China and his second bachelor degree in Computer Science at Georgia Southwestern State University(GSW) located in Georgia, United States as a result of his participating in the 1+2+1 Sino-America dual degree program. His research on developing a teacher-student appointment making mobile phone App was highly evaluated during his study at GSW. Instead of pursuing a master’s degree, Yunfeng works as a Software Engineer in a startup company named Exacloud Inc. located in Hangzhou, China for 3 years. The company focus its business on developing online interior house designing software. As an early member of the company, he accumulated a lot of engineering experience about designing and implementing 3D modeling and cloud based software. He is also experienced with Object-Oriented Programming. Besides, he is very interested in Image Analysis, Machine Learning and Biological Science. Other than his professional interests, Yunfeng is passionate about cross-culture study, communication, and cooperation. In his spare time, Yunfeng takes drumming, traveling, jogging and playing basketball as his hobbies.
